Membership

Become a Member

There shall be five categories of membership: Life, Associate, Affiliate, Overseas and Honorary.

Applications shall be considered by the Executive Committee of ABSI, who shall determine eligibility for membership. Applications scrutinized by the Executive Committee of ABSI will be submitted to the General Body for approval.

Life Membership

A Life member of ABSI shall be a full life member of ASI. General Surgeons, Surgical Oncologists and Plastic Surgeons with MS, DNB, MCh or equivalent qualifications/training, who have expressed an interest in Breast Surgery and devote a considerable proportion of their professional time to practising the art and science of Breast surgery will be eligible for Life membership. Membership fee shall be Rs 5000 plus GST. The fee may be raised from time to time after approval by the General body.

If you do not have an ASI Membership Number, please apply for Associate or Affiliate Membership before proceeding with your registration.

Associate Membership

Trainees (MS, DNB, MCh) in General Surgery, Surgical Oncology and Plastic Surgery, who have expressed an interest in Breast Surgery will be eligible for Associate Membership. Membership fee shall be Rs 2500 plus GST. The fee may be raised from time to time after approval by the General body.

Affiliate Membership

Radiologists, Pathologists, Medical Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, Breast Cancer Advocacy groups and Nurses who have expressed interest in the care of patients presenting with Breast disease and in creating breast cancer awareness will be eligible for Affiliate Membership. Overseas Membership

General Surgeons, Surgical Oncologists and Plastic Surgeons living overseas with well-recognised qualifications who have expressed an interest in Breast Surgery and devote a considerable proportion of their professional time to practising the art and science of Breast surgery will be eligible for Overseas membership. Overseas members shall not be entitled to contest for election to the Executive Committee of ABSI. The membership fee shall be US $300. The fee may be raised from time to time after approval by the General body.

Should an Overseas Member decide to settle in India, he/she would be admitted as a Life Member of ABSI without paying any further subscription. He/she should however become a Life Member of ASI before being admitted as a Life Member of ABSI.

Honorary Membership

An internationally renowned Surgeon or an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to Breast Surgery or to ABSI may be considered for Honorary Membership. No more than one Honorary member will be selected in a year.
